Seaman accuses S.H.R.M. Catering of negligence over on-the-job injuries

Head trauma

NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana man is suing his employer, S.H.R.M. Catering, and one of its clients for injuries he allegedly sustained at work.

Troy Washington filed a lawsuit Jan. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against S.H.R.M. Catering Services Inc. and Noble Drilling Services Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Washington was injured on April 25 while working for S.H.R.M Catering aboard a vessel owned by Noble Drilling. Washington says the serious injuries to his head, neck and back resulted from the defendants’ failure to ensure safe working conditions, maintain a seaworthy vessel, and adequately supply the boat with crew and equipment to perform its assigned tasks.

Washing seeks maintenance benefits, lost wages and physical disability and medical expenses, as well as other damages to be proven at trial. He is represented by attorneys Timothy J. Young, Tammy D. Harris, Megan C. Misko and Daniel J. Poolson Jr. of The Young Firm in New Orleans.
