LAFAYETTE – An offshore liftboats company is suing a marine transportation company after alleged negligence caused damage to a vessel.

All Coast LLC filed a lawsuit March 24 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana against Fleet Operators Inc., alleging negligence.

On Jan. 10, the suit states, the All Coast vessel Sandshark was jacked up in position when the Fleet Operators vessel the  George Edward came alongside to deliver supplies and equipment.

The first lift was accomplished without incident, but during the second lift, a Fleet Operators employee allegedly failed to maneuver the vessel properly, causing the vessel to lose position.

The Sandshark's crane boom was dragged toward and came in contact with the port leg of the vessel, causing significant damage to the crane.

All Coast seeks damages, plus interest and attorney fees. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Matthew A. Moeller of The Moeller Firm in New Orleans.
