Law money 06

BATON ROUGE – An East Baton Rouge Parish consumer alleges that there is false information on her credit report.

Stephanie Keller filed a complaint on May 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Portfolio Recovery Associates and Experian Information Solutions Inc. citing violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she disputed information regarding the Portfolio account with a dispute letter dated April 8. On May 5, she allegedly discovered that the defendants did not correct the information but changed dates in her credit report. The defendants' actions allegedly resulted in lowering her credit score and furthering her damages, causing her to suffer physical, emotional and mental pain and anguish. The plaintiff holds Portfolio Recovery Associates and Experian Information Solutions Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to follow reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy and reported false and inaccurate information even after they had known that the information was incorrect.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for all damages, legal fees and for such other and further relief as may be necessary, just and proper. She is represented by Jonathan Raburn of The Raburn Law Firm LLC in Baton Rouge.
