NEW ORLEANS – A Lacombe attorney alleges false and misleading statements were made by several judges that led to her disbarment.

Nanine McCool filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against the defendants alleging that they violated her statutory and constitutional rights.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 3, 2015, she was disbarred as an attorney, which caused her to suffer injury to her professional and personal reputation and loss of livelihood. She alleges that the disbarment was because she criticized the defendants' handling of cases and that defamatory statements were made against her.  The plaintiff holds Amacker, Gambrell, Johnson, Guidry, Crichton, et al responsible because the defendants allegedly deprived her right of freedom of speech and expression, due process and equal protection of the law.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages against each defendant individually and collectively, punitive damages and attorneys' fees. She is representing herself.
