SHREVEPORT – A custodian for a casino alleges she was terminated and discriminated against because of her age.

Rozena Miller filed a complaint on Sept. 6, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Shreveport Division against Red River Entertainment of Shreveport LLC, doing business as Sam's Town Casino, alleging that the former employer violated the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was certified by her physician to take intermittent FMLA leave and was given permission to sit for 10 minutes when her painful knee was unbearable. She alleges she was terminated in March 2015 for taking more than five hours to clean a restroom and for unsatisfactory work performance. The plaintiff holds Red River Entertainment of Shreveport LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected her to discrimination because of her age and disability and replaced her with a younger employee.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order enjoining defendant from engaging in unlawful employment practices, compensation for all damages, attorney's fees, costs for this action and all other equitable relief as the court deem proper. She is represented by Dianne Hill of Dianne Hill in Monroe.
