BATON ROUGE — A tankerman is suing PBC Management LLC, Florida Marine Transporters LLC and David McNemar, a vessel operator, for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and negligence.

Dakota Lee filed a complaint on October 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisian alleging that the defendants failed to maintain their vessel in a safe and reasonable state of repair.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he sustained serious and debilitating injuries while performing line handling operations on Sept. 18, 2015, causing him to suffer physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost earnings and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide proper equipment and/or assistance, take reasonable precautions for his safety and warn him of known and/or existing hazards.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for all damages plus interest, attorney's fees, costs of suit and all other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Walter Naquin, Jr. of Naquin Law Firm in Thibodaux.
