NEW ORLEANS – A blaster/painter alleges he was injured while working on a platform because of improperly fixed grating.

Nicholas Whittine filed a complaint on Oct. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and Dolphin Services LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 14, 2015, he sustained serious injuries while working aboard defendant Anadarko's platform, the Constitution Spar, when he stepped on a piece of fiberglass grating that was not properly affixed to the frame and fell. He alleges he was caused to suffer loss wages and fringe benefits, physical and mental pain, medical expenses, scarring and disfigurement. The plaintiff holds Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and Dolphin Services LLC responsible because Anadarko allegedly failed to exercise exceptional supervision and control over the operation being performed at Constitution Spar and defendant Dolphin improperly affixed the grating on the Spar.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages, plus costs of these proceedings and legal interest and all other equitable and just relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Henri M. Saunders and Scotty E. Chabert Jr. of Saunders & Chabert in Baton Rouge.
