Whistle-blower alleges he was terminated for cooperating with investigation of oil companies

Wrongful term 13

NEW ORLEANS – A man alleges he was unlawfully terminated for cooperating with federal authorities in an investigation.

Keith M. Greene Sr. filed a complaint on Oct. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Shamrock Management LLC, Fieldwood Energy LLC, Island Operating Co. Inc., et al. alleging violation of The Whistleblower Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 3, 2015, he was wrongfully terminated for cooperating with federal authorities in their investigation of the defendants' purportedly fraudulent acts. He alleges he has suffered depression, anxiety, and severe mental and emotional distress. The plaintiff holds Shamrock Management LLC, Fieldwood Energy LLC, Island Operating Co. Inc., et al responsible because the defendants allegedly conspired to prevent him from obtaining employment in the oil and gas industry by blackballing and disparaging him to other potential employers in the Gulf of Mexico.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment herein against defendants for compensatory damages, lost wages and benefits, loss of employability, attorneys’ fees, costs and any other remedies that the court deems just. He is represented by Hugh P. Lambert, Cayce C. Peterson and Jackie L. Smith of The Lambert Firm PLC in New Orleans.
