Golden Age of Welsh alleged to have not properly calculated overtime

Law money 05

LAFAYETTE – A Lafayette Parish man alleges he is owed unpaid wages from his employer.

Charles G. Houk Sr. filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lafayette Division against Golden Age of Welsh LLC alleging that the employer violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages for not receiving proper compensation. The plaintiff holds Golden Age of Welsh LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to include a non-discretionary $100 bi-weekly bonus into his regular rate for purposes of overtime calculation, automatically deducted 30 minutes from his pay each day for a meal break he didn't take and failed to maintain proper time and pay records.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court and any other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Justin Mueller in Lafayette.
