NEW ORLEANS – A Kirby Inland Marine employee alleges he was injured due to negligence.

David Huntington filed a complaint on Jan. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Kirby Inland Marine LP alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 1, 2015, he was employed by defendant as a Jones Act Seaman aboard the M/V Ajax when he experienced an accident that caused him to suffer serious painful injuries to his back and other parts of his body. The plaintiff holds Kirby Inland Marine LP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to take any means or precautions for the safety of its employees and failed to provide adequate equipment and personnel for the job in question.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages he is entitled to recover, together with legal interest, litigation costs, maintenance and cure benefits and all other general and equitable relief. He is represented by Timothy J. Young, Tammy D. Harris, Megan C. Misko and Daniel J. Poolson of The Young Firm in New Orleans.
