BATON ROUGE – A Jones Act seaman has filed suit against his employer over an alleged knee injury.

Mark Anthony Ward filed a complaint on Jan. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Parker Drilling Co. International LLC, Parker Drilling Offshore USA LLC, et al. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 22, 2014, he was working onboard the defendants' drilling barge known as the Parker 21B when he sustained severe and life-altering injuries to his knee. As a result, he alleges he has suffered loss of earning capacity, physical and mental pain, disability, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Parker Drilling Co. The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, jointly, severally, and/or in solido, in the full and true sum of the amount of damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, all costs of these proceedings and all other just and equitable relief. He is represented by James Parkerson Roy, Andrew J. Quackenbos and John P. Roy of Domengeaux Wright Roy & Edwards LLC in Lafayette and John W. Lee Jr. of John W.
