LAFAYETTE – A Florida man alleges he was injured in an accident involving two tractor-trailers on U.S. Highway 90 in Broussard.

Tyrone Anderson filed a complaint on Jan. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana Lafayette Division against HDZ Transport LLC, Commercial Alliance Insurance Co., Jerahmel Walker, TCB Brokerage, Alfredo Diaz and Progressive Express Insurance Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 25, 2016, he was a guest passenger in a 2007 tractor-trailer being operated by Walker, owned by TCB Brokerage, when defendant Diaz, who was driving a tractor-trailer owned by HDZ Transport changed lanes and struck the truck operated by Walker. As a result of the accident, plaintiff alleges he suffered and sustained serious and significant injuries that necessitated medical treatment. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because defendants Diaz and Walker allegedly failed to maintain proper lookout and operated their vehicles in a reckless and careless manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for damages reasonable under the premises, costs for these proceedings and all other alternative relief. He is represented by Joseph F. Gaar Jr., Jason M. Welborn, Lucas S. Colligan and Jacob H. Hargett of Joseph F. Gaar Jr. APLC in Lafayette.
