Cajun Services Unlimited alleges Besco Tubular, Elite Energy violated Uniform Trade Secrets Act

NEW ORLEANS – A Gray company alleges two Houma businesses misappropriated its technology.

Cajun Services Unlimited LLC, doing business as Spoked Manufacturing, filed a complaint on Jan. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Benton Energy Service Co., doing business as Besco Tubular, and Elite Energy Services LLC, alleging violation of the Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law and Louisiana Uniform Trade Secrets Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff accuses the defendants of intentional theft and misappropriation of its Elevator Roller Insert System, which is currently patent pending. The plaintiff holds Benton Energy Service Co., doing business as Besco Tubular, and Elite Energy Services LLC responsible because Benton allegedly ceased all rentals and payments of the system to the plaintiff and failed to pay its outstanding invoices in the sum amount of more than $600,000 and both misappropriated plaintiff's proprietary and confidential trade secret information.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages in an amount to be proven at trial, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorneys’ fees, costs and such other just, necessary and proper relief. It is represented by Walter J. Scott Jr. and George T. Scott of Scott Law Group PC in Southlake, Texas and Tori S. Bowling of Keogh, Cox & Wilson LTD in Baton Rouge.
