NEW ORLEANS – Parents and representatives of the estate of a railway worker have filed a suit against Alabama Great Southern Railway Co. after the man was struck by a train and killed.
Ruth and Dan Liebold, as personal representative of the estate of decedent Kyle Liebold filed a complaint on Jan. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Alabama Great Southern Railway Co. citing the Federal Employers’ Liability Act.
According to the complaint, on Feb. 20, 2016, Kyle Liebold was working as a terminal trainmaster in New Orleans when defendant's train number 298 struck and killed him. The plaintiffs allege Alabama Great Southern Railway Co.'s fault and negligence caused their son's death.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant in an amount in an amount to be determined at trial with legal interest, costs of the suit and all other equitable relief to which they may be entitled.
