SHREVEPORT – A Caddo Parish couple alleges the wife was arrested without probable cause and denied her medications.

Sara L. Richardson and Dee Jay Richardson filed a complaint on Feb. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Shreveport Division against the city of Shreveport, Officer CB Cisco, Officer D. Albrecht, et al. alleging false arrest, failure to provide medical care, unreasonable seizure of property and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Feb. 9, 2016, plaintiff Sara Richardson was arrested and was booked into the Shreveport jail and then moved to Caddo Parish Correctional Center. Due to the alleged denial of her medications, she claims she experienced severe mental reaction and anxiety attacks that required hospitalization. She was released on bond on Feb. 11, 2016, and all charges against her were dismissed in April 2016. The plaintiff holds city of Shreveport, Cisco, Albrecht, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly arrested plaintiff Sara Richardson without probable cause and refused to allow her to take her prescribed medication.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory, punitive and consequential damages, costs of this suit, and all other relief that the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by Nelson W. Cameron of Nelson W. Cameron, Attorney at Law in Shreveport.
