NEW ORLEANS – A Lafource Parish business and its vessel are alleged to have failed to pay for services provided.
Oceaneering International Inc. filed a complaint on March 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against L/B Myrtle, L/B Robert, L/B Jill and Montco Offshore Inc. and Montco Oilfield Contractors LLC alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2016, plaintiff provided essential services and equipment necessary and essential to the operation of the vessels. As of the filing of this complaint, the amount of $1,637,059.56 allegedly remains outstanding and is past due. Further, it has also sustained damages approximately $2,090,713 for unreturned equipment.
The plaintiff holds L/B Myrtle, L/B Robert, L/B Jill and Montco Offshore Inc. and Montco Oilfield Contractors LLC responsible because defendant Montco allegedly refused to return the equipment and failed to make payments for its indebtedness.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order to the U.S. Marshal to arrest of the vessels to secure plaintiff’s claims, award for damages of of $1,637,059.56, with interest, litigation costs and such further and different relief.
