Arizona Turbine Technology accuses Franklin companies, individual of defamation

LAFAYETTE – A Franklin man and two limited liability companies are accused of making false and unlawful communications regarding an Arizona company.

Arizona Turbine Technology Inc., Advanced Turbine Services LLC, David Crowe and Kenneth Braccio filed a complaint on March 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lafayette Division against Turbine Powered Technology LLC, Marine Turbine Technologies LLC and Ted McIntyre II alleging that they violated the Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices Act, defamation and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that McIntyre II made false and misleading statements to the plaintiffs' customers to gain competitive advantage for the defendant companies. The suit states he told plaintiffs' customers that the plaintiffs had infringed on a patent owned by the defendants. The plaintiffs holds Turbine Powered Technology LLC, Marine Turbine Technologies LLC and McIntyre II responsible because the plaintiffs have allegedly has suffered  a loss of revenue and other direct economic damages.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendants for general and actual economic damages, attorneys’ fees and all further relief justified in the premises. They are represented by Adam G. Young of Young, Cotter & Meade in Lafayette and John Alden Meade and Laura N. Buck of Young, Cotter & Meade in New Orleans.
