Medical malpractice 02

SHREVEPORT – A Family Dollar shopper alleges she was injured by a cart that wasn't properly secured.

Dalisa L. Hunt filed a complaint on March 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Shreveport Division against unknown employee, Swift Transportation Co. and Mohave Transportation Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in March 23, 2016, she sustained injuries when she was struck by a U-boat utility cart that was improperly secured by the unknown employee at a Family Dollar store in Caddo Parish. She alleges she suffered pain, mental anguish and distress and surgery to correct the damages to her spine. The plaintiff holds unknown employee, Swift Transportation Co. and Mohave Transportation Insurance Co. responsible because the unknown employee allegedly failed to properly secure the U-boat utility cart and the barrier's lip of the lift gate.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all reasonable damages, interest, costs and expenses of this suit and all other general and equitable relief necessary and proper in the premises. She is represented by J. Marshall Rice, M. Carl Rice, William F. Kendig and Joel A. Rice of Rice & Kendig in Shreveport.
