NEW ORLEANS – A woman alleges medical hardware manufactured by a Florida company failed and that she needed further medical treatment.

Beverly Bollinger filed a complaint on March 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against KLS Martin Manufacturing LLC alleging that the medical device company violated the Louisiana Product Liability Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 13, 2016, the plaintiff underwent surgery to her left rib plating and was implanted with a medical hardware that was manufactured by defendant. Thereafter, she alleges she began experiencing severe pain with certain movements. The suit states that in September 2016, scans later determined the hardware had failed and was explanted in March.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages of more than $75,000, interest and costs and such other relief as justice may require. She is represented by Frank E. Lamothe III and Richard M. Martin Jr. of Lamothe Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.
