LAFAYETTE – A Ringgold oilfield consulting service alleges a Texas company breached its obligations to it.
Woodard Consulting Services LLC and Jimmy Woodard filed a complaint on April 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana against Exco Operating Co. LP alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in May 16, 2013, plaintiffs were hired by defendant to provide consultation services to its project in Texas. On Aug. 4, 2016, the suit states that two employees filed a suit naming the plaintiffs and others for the injuries they claim they sustained while working under their supervision.
The plaintiffs hold Exco Operating Co. LP responsible because the defendant allegedly breached its contractual obligations to provide defense and indemnity.
The plaintiffs requests a trial by jury and seeks declaration that defendant is obligated to provide plaintiff a defense and indemnity, award for damages, attorney’s fees, legal costs, interest and any and all other relief available at law or equity. They are represented by Mark L. Clark and Marne A. Jones of Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons LLP in New Orleans.
