NEW ORLEANS – A Singapore corporation alleges it is owed more than $200,000 for bunkers it supplied to a cargo vessel.
Praxis Energy Agents Pte. LTD filed a complaint on April 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against M/V Qing Quan Shan, her engines, freights, apparel, appurtenances, tackle etc., in rem alleging breach of bunker supply agreement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 19, pursuant to a maritime contract, plaintiff timely delivered bunkers to the defendant at the port of Singapore for the amount totaling $281,270.29. To date, no payment has been received, the suit states.
The plaintiff holds M/V/ Qing Quan Shan, her engines, freights, apparel, appurtenances, tackle etc., in rem responsible because the defendant allegedly wrongfully refused and/or neglected to timely pay the amount it indisputably owed.
The plaintiff seeks maritime jurisdiction issue against defendant M/V Qing Quan Shan, her engines, freights, apparel, appurtenances, tackle etc., in rem, including the issuance of a warrant for the arrest, interest, costs, attorney fees and such other and further relief.
