BATON ROUGE – Former employees of the Miller Waffle House Restaurants allege they were not paid a minimum wage.
Shannon Hannon, Melissa Torres and Shelly Guidry filed a complaint on May 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against F. Miller Properties LLC alleging that the restaurant operator violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they were damaged for receiving salaries of less than minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. The plaintiffs holds F. Miller Properties LLC responsible because the defendant also allegedly wrongfully deducted weekly cash wages the sum of $3.10 per work shift as a meal credit.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek an order certifying this action as a collective action, payment for all unpaid minimum wages, plus liquidated damages, attorney fees and expenses and all other legal relief which the court may deem appropriate.
