NEW ORLEANS – A Lafayette corporation alleges that a Breaux Bridge company failed to complete a salvage operation by deadline.
Rozel Operating Co. filed a complaint on May 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Z. E. Services LLC, formerly known as Zealous Energy Services LLC, alleging that the construction solutions provider failed perform its contractual obligations.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the parties entered into a salvage agreement in August 2016 to salvage and retrieve a sunken barge in the Gulf of Mexico. The plaintiff holds Z. E. Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to timely complete the salvage operations and contracted subcontractors without plaintiff's permission.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, declaring that $467,500 is the total amount owed under the parties agreement, that plaintiff owes no additional amount to defendant and an order dissolving the agreement and all other relief available to plaintiff. It is represented by Cliffe E. Laborde III of Mahtook & Lafleur in Lafayette and Brandon W. Letulier and Cliff A. LaCour of NeunerPate in Lafayette.
