Woman allegedly injured in collisions seeks coverage of damages from State Farm

Insurance 05

NEW ORLEANS – A St. Tammany Parish motorist alleges that damages she received in two collisions exceeded limits of the drivers' insurance policies.

Michelle Zahn filed a complaint for money damages on June 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was injured following two motor vehicle collisions in March and April 2016 involving underinsured drivers. The plaintiff alleges that her damages exceeded coverage from the drivers' insurers and that she is now pursing the balance from the defendant.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, exemplary and punitive damages, with legal interest, costs of these proceedings and all other equitable relief the court shall deem appropriate. She is represented by Matthew D. Hemmer of Morris Bart LLC in New Orleans.
