NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans individual alleges that the operators of The Bean Gallery, Envie Expression Bar and Cafe and others failed to properly compensate employees for overtime work.

Cantanya Stevenson, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on June 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against the Miaminola Enterprises LLC, Envie FQ LLC and Hasan Ergen alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she routinely worked for defendants' restaurants for more than 40 hours per week but was not paid overtime for all hours worked beyond 40. The plaintiff holds Miaminola Enterprises LLC, Envie FQ LLC and Ergen responsible because the defendants allegedly operated under a scheme whereby they would transfer plaintiff from one location to another for the purposes of avoiding and/or reducing the compensation owed to plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, legal interest, litigation costs, expenses and such other and further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Robert B. Landry III of Robert B. Landry III PLC in Baton Rouge.
