LAFAYETTE – A New Iberia vinegar products manufacture alleges that Texas company failed to properly install a liner in its tanker trailer.

Louisiana Specialty Products Inc. filed a complaint on June 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lafayette Division against ALS Associates Inc., doing business as ALS Industrial Services, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, in January, it delivered a tanker trailer to the defendant for prep work and coating and that a liner was applied in March. The suit states that this liner failed, the plaintiff returned the trailer to the defendant to correct the issue, but the second liner also failed. The plaintiff holds ALS Associates Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly did not perform the coating based on plaintiff's specifications and failed to ensure proper application of the liner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in its favor for all damages sustained, plus legal interest and costs of these proceedings and all general and equitable relief. It is represented by G. Andrew Veazey, Bradford H. Felder and Dona K. Renegar of Veazey, Felder & Renegar LLC in Lafayette.
