NEW ORLEANS – A Mississippi man alleges that he was injured while shopping at a Houma Walmart.
Shane Polk filed a complaint on June 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 10, 2016, he was at Walmart store No. 542 in Houma to purchase various items when he slipped and fell on a liquid substance on the floor. He alleges he suffered injuries to his hip, low back and other parts of the body.
The plaintiff holds Wal-Mart Stores Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warnings of the slip and trip hazards.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages as may be reasonable under the premises, plus interest, costs of court and all other equitable relief. She is represented by Willard P. Schieffer of Law Office of Will Schieffler in Thibodaux.
