NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman alleges she was terminated in retaliation from her job.

Kijuana Miller filed a complaint on June 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Dimension Development Co. Inc., doing business as Intercontinental New Orleans, alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Louisiana Employment Discrimination Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began her employment with the defendant as a senior sales manager in April 2013. She alleges that in June 2015 at a business development event, her superior touched her in an inappropriate manner and that he was later disciplined. She alleges she was retaliated against for reporting the sexual harassment and that she was terminated on Aug. 16, 2016.

The plaintiff holds Dimension Development Co. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated her employment because she complained about the illegal practices under Title VII.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, attorney’s fees, costs, pre- and post-termination judicial interest and all other general and equitable relief. She is represented by James L. Arruebarrena of James L. Arruebarrena LLC in New Orleans.
