Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips LLP issued the following announcement on Jan. 8.

Taylor Porter is pleased to announce that attorney Jonathan Moore has been elected Partner, effective Jan. 1, 2019. Moore joined Taylor Porter in 2012, and practices in a wide array of areas in commercial transactions, banking, bankruptcy, real estate, and commercial litigation.

Moore’s practice includes bank workouts and credit restructuring involving creditor-debtor secured transactions and real estate issues. He has represented financial institutions in their capacities as trustees. Moore’s commercial litigation practice has involved, among other things, a high-profile professional liability matter involving mineral interests and property issues and representing a real estate developer in state court action spanning almost seven years against an out-of-state banking institution regarding lender liability issues. Moore was directly involved in structuring a multi-million dollar note sale with a buyer in a complex series of transactions involving a high profile 100-acre traditional neighborhood development in Baton Rouge. Currently, Moore is working with various clients in a number of matters related to the pending bankruptcy matter and related adversary proceedings concerning the Louisiana Heart Hospital. Moore has also worked closely with an out-of-state client in conducting due diligence, evaluating and analyzing various large-asset commercial loans related to the liquidation of First NBC Bank in New Orleans during the FDIC’s loan pool bid process.

Moore’s work involving creditor-debtor secured transactions has resulted in his direct involvement in various large-scale commercial foreclosures of hotels, shopping centers and apartment complexes throughout Louisiana, including the Holiday Inn in Houma, and the Bayou Walk Shopping Center in Shreveport. Notable prior commercial foreclosures include the high-rise, 297-room Marriott in Baton Rouge that secured debt evidenced by a $36.5 million note, and obtaining a writ of sequestration involving a casino-related hotel in Bossier City.

Moore received his B.A. in Economics with a minor in English from LSU in 2005, and J.D. in 2012 from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Prior to attending law school, Moore worked at the Baton Rouge Area Chamber as both the Regional Project Manager for Business Development and East Baton Rouge Parish Project Manager for Business Development. Prior to his work at BRAC, Moore worked as an assistant to the business manager at the LSU Athletic Department.
