TAYLOR PORTER: Kenny Sworn In as BRBA Young Lawyers Council Chair-Elect

Taylor Porter Partner Erin Sayes Kenny has been sworn in as Chair-Elect of the Young Lawyers Section Council of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, serving the legal profession and the public for 90 years and one of the largest voluntary bar associations in the State of Louisiana with more than 2,500 lawyers.

The installation ceremony and reception was held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana in front of Chief Judge Shelly Dick, and judges Brian Jackson, John deGravelles, and Erin Wilder-Doomes.

Kenny will serve in her fifth year as a YLSC member. She has served on the BRBA Volunteer Committee since 2011, and on the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation’s Holiday Star Project Committee since 2014.

Kenny is a Partner at Taylor Porter, where she maintains a varied state and federal civil litigation and appellate practice, with an emphasis in commercial and tort litigation, including insurance defense and insurance coverage cases, and also alcoholic beverage licensing and related enforcement issues. Kenny was recently named by her peers among the 2019 Louisiana Super Lawyers “Rising Stars”.

Within the Firm, Kenny currently serves as chair of the Recruiting Committee. Kenny serves as a board member for the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and as a member of the LADC Young Lawyers Committee. Additionally, she serves the community as a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge.

Kenny earned her J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, and she received her B.A. in Mass Communication from Louisiana State University.
