NEW ORLEANS (Louisiana Record) — Longtime Metairie attorney Thomas E Loehn is voluntarily on probation subject to a deferred suspension following a Oct. 1 Louisiana Supreme Court attorney disciplinary proceeding over allegations he mismanaged his law firm's client trust account.

In its single-page disciplinary proceeding, the court handed down a fully deferred suspensions of one year and one day, pending successful completion of two years' probation. The probationary period is set to begin the date Loehn and the office of disciplinary counsel execute a formal probation plan.

"Any misconduct during the probationary period may be grounds for making the deferred suspension executory, or imposing additional discipline, as appropriate," the disciplinary proceeding said.

The state Supreme Court handed down the disciplinary proceeding after accepting a petition for consent discipline reached between Loehn and the office of disciplinary counsel, according to the disciplinary proceeding. The state high court also ordered Loehn to pay all costs and expenses in the disciplinary proceeding against him, with legal interest to commence thirty days from the date of finality of the court's judgment until all is paid.

Loehn was admitted to the bar in Louisiana on Oct. 1, 1976, according to his profile at the Louisiana State Bar Association's website. No prior discipline was listed on his state bar profile or in a search of Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board's online database.

The office of disciplinary counsel began an investigation into allegations that Loehn "mismanaged his law firm's client trust account," the disciplinary proceeding said.

Loehn reportedly is a partner in Boggs Loehn & Rodrigue in Metairie, according to online searches.

In his petition for consent discipline, Loehn admitted to violating professional conduct rules regarding safekeeping of property, according to the disciplinary proceeding. The disciplinary proceeding provided no further details about allegations against Loehn.

Boggs Loehn & Rodrigue's Wordpress website is no longer available.
