Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips LLP issued the following announcement on Sept. 16.
Taylor Porter Partner Vicki Crochet has been ranked the 2021 Best Lawyers in America "Employment Lawyer of the Year" in Baton Rouge, which is awarded to individual attorneys with the highest overall peer attorney feedback for a specific practice area and geographic location. Only one attorney is recognized as the “Lawyer of the Year” for each specialty and location. The 27th annual Best Lawyers publication is an annual list compiled since 1983 and universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence in which rankings are based on a peer-review survey in which more than 50,000 leading attorneys cast nearly five million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas.
Crochet has been named three times (2014, 2019, 2021) as Best Lawyers "Lawyer of the Year in Baton Rouge" in Employment Law. She also has been selected by her peers among the "Top 25 Louisiana Super Lawyers Women Attorneys," along with her Super Lawyers recognition in Employment Law. Crochet has been selected for inclusion in Chambers USA among the "Leaders in their Field" in Employment Law.
Crochet serves as the Practice Group Leader of the Taylor Porter Employment, Labor and Benefits practice. Crochet also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Taylor Porter Executive Committee. Crochet practices all areas of employment law, advising clients regarding policies and procedures; representing them before governmental agencies including the EEOC, OFCCP, the Louisiana Commission on Human Rights (LCHR), and the Louisiana Civil Service Commission; and handling all aspects of employment litigation. Crochet also has conducted employee training and is a frequent lecturer on employment law issues. She currently is an associate member of the Greater Baton Rouge Society for Human Resource Management and the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management.
Crochet is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers (CLEL), and member of both the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.
