Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips LLP issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.
Taylor Porter Partner Vicki Crochet has been elected as a Fellow into The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by ones' colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence. This year is the 25th installation of Fellows by the College.
With the current installation, the College is represented by almost 1,600 members in 46 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and eight Canadian Provinces. The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers is a nonprofit professional association honoring the leading lawyers nationwide in the practice of Labor and Employment Law. Fellows are recognized as distinguished members of the labor and employment community who promote achievement, advancement and excellence in the practice by setting standards of professionalism and civility, by sharing their experience and knowledge and by acting as a resource for academia, the government, the judiciary and the community at large.
Practicing law since 1980, Crochet serves as the Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Employment, Labor and Benefits practice. Crochet also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Taylor Porter Executive Committee. Crochet practices all areas of employment law, advising clients regarding policies and procedures; representing them before governmental agencies including the EEOC, OFCCP, the Louisiana Commission on Human Rights (LCHR), and the Louisiana Civil Service Commission; and handling all aspects of employment litigation. Crochet conducts employee training and is a frequent lecturer on employment law issues. She currently is an associate member of the Greater Baton Rouge Society for Human Resource Management and the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management. Crochet is a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and The Defense Research Institute.
Crochet has received several accolades for her Employment, Labor and Benefits practice. Crochet has been named three times (2014, 2019, 2021) as Best Lawyers "Lawyer of the Year in Baton Rouge" in Labor and Employment Law. Crochet was selected by her peers among the "Top 25 Louisiana Super Lawyers Women Attorneys," along with her Super Lawyers recognition in Labor and Employment Law.
