LAFAYETTE - A Layafette Parish man sued the United States through the Department of the Army and the Defense Logistics Agency after he was allegedly injured delivering helicopter propellers to the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station in Texas.

According to documents filed on March 23 in Lafayette federal court, plaintiff Kobiashii Jackson was delivering the cargo on March 28, 2019. A station employee was operating a forklift to remove the propellers from Jackson's semi-trailer, when the propellers reportedly fell off the forklift suddenly, striking the plaintiff and causing severe injuries and disabilities, including spine and head injury.

Jackson seeks restitution from the defendants for the negligence that reportedly caused the incident. He is represented by Blake Jones Law Firm LLC of New Orleans.
