Taylor Porter attorney Lauren Hadden has been selected among 12 finalists for the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel’s 2021 Frank L. Maraist Award. The award recipient will be announced and all finalists will be recognized at the annual LADC Young Lawyers & LADC Board Dinner, to be held Aug. 5, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. at the Westin New Orleans.
The Frank L. Maraist Award, named for former LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center professor, Frank Maraist, recognizes a young lawyer, 39 years old or less or in practice six or fewer years, who demonstrates professional excellence, shows commitment to pro bono work and community service, and contributes to furthering the ideals of the legal profession.
At Taylor Porter, Hadden practices in labor and employment, insurance defense, general/tort litigation, and products liability. Hadden ranks among Louisiana Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” and Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch,” as selected by her peers. She serves on the publications committee for the Baton Rouge Bar Association's magazine, the “Baton Rouge Lawyer.” Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hadden has co-authored several articles on local, state and federal guidance on workplace and employer policies.
In the community, Hadden has actively participated in fundraising events on behalf of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, locally and in Memphis, as well as for the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis. Hadden serves on the board of directors for the YMCA, C.B. Pennington, Jr. Branch. She is a former board member of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children and a former membership advisor for Delta Gamma Fraternity. Hadden and her husband are active members of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
