Woman wants $1 million from Plaquemine after officer tased her

BATON ROUGE -- Charmaine Jordan filed a federal complaint on August 10 in the Middle District of Louisiana against the City of Plaquemine, Mayor Edwin M. Reeves, Jr., Len Hall and Kenny Payne.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 10, 2021, Jordan was attempting to rescue her daughter from being stabbed with a knife. Officer Hall tased Jordan with no warning at all causing her to fall on her back and resulting in severe injury, the suit claims. After she was tased, he allowed the taser cartridges to remain in her for minutes, the suit claims. 

Jordan seeks $1 million. Jordan is represented by Shannon L. Battiste.
