Woman sues USA over incident with postal employee

NEW ORLEANS - Fredrica L. Banks filed a federal lawsuit on October 22 in the Eastern District of Louisiana against the United States for violation of the Federal Tort Claims Act. 

According to the complaint, Banks submitted an SF-95 to the U.S., which was received, and the U.S. has yet to make a determination in her claim despite more than six months having passed since her submission. Banks alleges that on Oct. 22, 2019, an accident occurred as she was leaving a Shop Rite when a postal employee was negligent and caused Banks personal injury. 

Banks past and future lost wages, past and future medical expenses, past and future loss of enjoyment of life, past and future general damages, other forms of damages, cost of suit, pre- and post-judgment interest and attorney's fees. Banks is represented by Berney L. Strauss.
