ALEXANDRIA - Tracie Nichole Barber filed a federal complaint on November 10 in the Western District of Louisiana against Wolfgang Puck Worldwide, Inc., Wolfgang Puck Enterprises Inc. and W.P. Appliances, Inc. for violation of the Louisiana Products Liability Act.
According to the complaint, the defendants make, distribute and sell a wide-range of consumer products, including the “Elite Heavy Duty 7-Quart” electric pressure cooker. On Dec. 22, 2020, Barber alleges to have suffered serious and substantial burn injuries as the direct and proximate result of the pressure cooker’s lid suddenly and unexpectedly exploding off the pot.
This allegedly allowed its scalding hot contents to be forcefully ejected from the pressure cooker. Barber alleges to have suffered significant and painful bodily injuries, medical expenses, wage loss, physical pain, mental anguish, and diminished enjoyment of life.
Barber seeks compensation for injuries, economic losses and pain and suffering, cost of suit and attorney fees. Barber is represented by Louis L. Gertler of The Gertler Law Firm.
