ALEXANDRIA - Old Indian Tricks, LLC filed a lawsuit on Dec. 29 in Grant Parish District Court against Nelson Creek Outdoors and three individuals for trademark infringement and violation of the Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law.

According to the lawsuit, Nelson Creek Outdoors is in the business of developing, marketing and selling products intended to attract game animals for hunters. On Dec. 24, 2020, Plaintiff's principal issued a cease order to stop the manufacture and package under a name that is trademarked that defendant Brian Sparks once provided for Old Indian Tricks, LLC. The product is called Cuzz's Cooter Juice.

After the order was given to Sparks, he began manufacturing and selling a product with the marketing that customers could get the real "original" formula for the product in question, the suit says. It is alleged that Sparks also put in his advertising some slanderous and false claims about the Plaintiff and its product.

The defendant recently removed the case to U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. Plaintiff is represented by Ryan M. Goudelocke of New Orleans.
