MBLB’s Pro Bono & Philanthropy Committee has arranged for our firm team members to serve our community through Grace at the Green Light on a quarterly basis.
Our team first volunteered at Grace at the Green Light for our first annual Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who said, “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.” That day we worked with other volunteers and staff of the organization to help serve 112 homeless people a hot breakfast, clean and paint the dining room and donate and sort clothing.
A group of our team members started this morning off serving breakfast at Grace at the Green Light to 117 unhoused people. It only took an hour and a half, but their acts of kindness will surely be thought of throughout the day.
We will be back in the fall.
ABOUT GRACE AT THE GREEN LIGHT
Grace at The Green Light is a 501c3 that has been hard at work changing the culture of our great city since June 1st, 2014. Every day, its mission is to provide care for the people who need it the most. We’ve all seen someone down and out looking for a little hope at the green lights, and as we speed away to our lives, they’re still there. Grace at The Green Light hopes to provide essentials to not only help New Orleans homeless, but to show them there are people out there who do care about them.
