Five Seasoned Litigators Join Taylor Porter

Taylor Porter is pleased to welcome Charles A. Schutte, Jr., Andrew Wallace Eversberg, Stephen Dale Cronin, Sean P. Avocato and Imelda T. Frugé to the firm. These seasoned attorneys join Taylor Porter from the law firm of Schutte, Richardson, Eversberg, Cronin, Judice & Avocato. This strategic addition brings decades of litigation, transactional, and trial experience that enhance Taylor Porter’s capabilities to serve its clients in all major areas of practice.

Charles A. Schutte, Jr. practices primarily in business organizations, business litigation, banking and finance, commercial real estate, medical malpractice, professional liability, insurance defense, construction law, and premises liability. He is a licensed title insurance agent in the state of Louisiana. Mr. Schutte is a member of the Louisiana State and Baton Rouge Bar Associations, as well as the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute (DRI), and the Louisiana Bankers Association (Bank Counsel Section). He earned his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1977.

Andrew Wallace Eversberg practices in automobile liability, premises liability, products liability, homeowners’ liability, environmental liability, and trucking liability. He has experience handling cases involving insurance bad faith, workers’ compensation, life insurance, professional liability, toxic torts, and construction law disputes. Mr. Eversberg has tried over one hundred cases to verdict in his active trial practice in both state and federal court. He is admitted to practice in Louisiana and Mississippi. Mr. Eversberg earned his J.D. in 1995 from the University of Mississippi.

Stephen Dale Cronin practices primarily in insurance defense, appellate advocacy, workers’ compensation, and personal injury defense. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Louisiana, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Cronin earned his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2001.

Sean P. Avocato practices primarily in litigation of matters in insurance defense, automobile liability, homeowner’s liability, premises liability, commercial general liability, insurance coverage, bad faith, and casualty defense. He is a member of the Louisiana State and Baton Rouge Bar Associations. Mr. Avocato earned his J.D. from the Mississippi College School of Law in 2014.

Imelda T. Frugé practices in insurance defense and professional liability defense with a focus on medical malpractice. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Imelda is a member of the Louisiana State and Baton Rouge Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. Mrs. Frugé earned her J.D. in 1997 from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University.
