Louisiana State University Law School recently celebrated one of its esteemed alumni, Kristin Wall, who graduated from the law school in 1989. Wall currently serves as the CEO and President of Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC), the largest workers' compensation insurance provider in the state.

Interestingly, Wall had not initially planned on attending law school. However, she credits her older brother and then-fiancé, who is now her husband, for encouraging her to enroll at LSU Law. During her time there, Wall developed a fascination with labor law, thanks to the influence of professors Benjamin Shieber and Saul Litvinoff, as well as Judge Alvin R. Rubin.

Wall's education at LSU Law not only helped her secure a position as a managing claims attorney at LWCC in the 90s but also allowed her to create an in-house law firm at the company. She brought in her former classmate, Michael Stiltner, who now serves as the General Counsel at LWCC. Both Wall and Stiltner are members of the Dean's Council. LWCC has consistently been recognized as one of the top 50 property casualty companies in the country.

Reflecting on her time at LSU Law, Wall expressed immense gratitude for the education she received, stating that it was a life-changing experience for her. She believes that her law school education has played a pivotal role in her success and leadership positions at LWCC. Wall emphasized that going to law school not only provides a competitive edge but also instills confidence in understanding the vital operations necessary for the company's success.

Wall and her husband share two daughters, both of whom have followed in their mother's footsteps by pursuing legal careers. Kaitlin Wall Lacoste, also an LSU Law graduate, works as an attorney at Erlingson Banks, while their other daughter, Kelsey, serves as a senior policy advisor in Washington, D.C.

Overall, Kristin Wall's achievements and contributions to LWCC exemplify the caliber of graduates produced by LSU Law and highlight the significant impact the institution has on its alumni's professional journeys.
