Health and wellness are booming conversations within our communities specifically, during the month of October. In effort to educate and raise awareness surrounding regarding overall health, the Southern University Law Center (SULC) in partnership with Southern University Alumni Federation is proud to host “GOALden Living!,” a total wellness event, on Thursday, October 26 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Smith Brown Memorial Union on the campus of Southern University and A&M College.
During the event, community members can take part in wellness screenings and receive information on local resources available addressing nutrition, wellness, and more. This unique experience will feature a low impact activity session, vendor shopping, and a panel discussion surrounding nutrition and health living led by local community health experts.
The goal of this event is to provide the community with valuable resources and outlets that can assist with maintaining good health and overcoming disease stigmas.
Participating vendors include representatives from, Baton Rouge General, Southern University School of Nursing, Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, and more.
This event is free and open to the public.
