NEW ORLEANS — A Louisiana man is suing Ford Motor Company alleging a vehicle he purchased was defective.

On Jan. 31, 2022, Michael J. Enright Jr. purchased a new 2022 Ford F-150 Lariat Crew Cab from Robin Ford for $33,894 in Louisiana, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Enright claims the vehicle exhibited various defects, including battery and APIM issues, discovered within the warranty periods.

Despite numerous repair attempts, the defendant failed to remedy the problems, according to the suit.

The plaintiff, in accordance with Louisiana Redhibition Laws, provided adequate notice and opportunities for repair.

The defects qualify as redhibitory under Louisiana Civil Code Articles 2520, the complaint states.

Enright claims that the hidden defects existed at the time of sale and, if known, would have deterred a reasonable buyer from the purchase.

"The Plaintiff has performed each and every duty required of him under Louisiana Redhibition Laws, except as may have been excused or prevented by the conduct of the Defendant, as herein alleged," the complaint states.

Enright is seeking rescission of the sale, return of the purchase price, collateral costs, finance charges, insurance premiums, out-of-pocket expenses and non-pecuniary damages totaling $25,000. He is represented by Richard C. Dalton.
