BATON ROUGE — International Mezzo Technologies is suing Airborne ECS LLC alleging patent invalidity and trade secret misappropriation.

International Mezzo Technologies, Inc. has filed a legal action against Airborne ECS, which is doing business as  Intergalactic due to a dispute that centers around Airborne's attempt to enforce U.S. Patent No. 11,519,670, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana on Nov. 21.

The patent pertains to laser-welded microtube heat exchangers for aircraft environmental control systems.

Airborne alleges that Mezzo infringes on the '670 Patent, although Mezzo asserts that Airborne is not the true owner of the claimed invention, according to the suit.

Mezzo claims it is the rightful owner of the invention described in the '670 Patent, and Airborne's assertion of ownership conflicts with Mezzo's proper claim of inventorship.

This conflict poses a threat to Mezzo's property rights, including those associated with the '670 Patent and Mezzo's pending patent applications, according to the suit.

Mezzo is seeking a declaratory judgment of the '670 Patent's invalidity and/or a correction of the inventorship to accurately reflect the true inventor(s) of the '670 Patent claims. It is represented by David Scotton and Emily Lippold Gummer of Carver, Darden, Koretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman & Areaux in New Orleans.
