Christopher Clanton has filed a lawsuit against Wright Medical Technology, Inc., a Delaware Corporation, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The case, identified as 2:24-cv-01154-SM-EJD, was filed on May 6, 2024. The plaintiff alleges personal injuries and damages related to the defendant's defective artificial hip product known as Wright Medical Profemur Modular Neck.

Clanton is a resident of Mandeville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. Wright Medical Technology is a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in Memphis, Tennessee. The company is involved in designing, manufacturing, distributing, selling and marketing various prosthetic orthopedic products including the one at issue in this case.

On November 3, 2005, Clanton had a Wright Medical artificial hip implanted into his body through a procedure known as total hip arthroplasty (THA). The surgeon who performed the operation did not violate any generally accepted standards of care in the field of orthopedic surgery.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for personal injuries and damages relating to the defendant’s development, design testing, assembling, manufacture, packaging, labeling, marketing distribution and sale of the defective artificial hip product.
