Law Center welcomes six new staff members as fall semester begins

LSU Law welcomed six new staff members to the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center prior to the start of the fall semester.

Jenifer Godfrey, who formerly served as Associate Director of Admissions from 2011 to 2013, has returned to the Law Center as Director of Student Records and Associate Registrar. In her new role, Godfrey will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and certifying student records, as well as oversight of all functions and procedures regarding academic policies and records.

Godfrey most recently served as Interim Director of the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program at LSU, and she was also formerly the Assistant Dean of Admissions & Recruitment at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, she held administrative roles at the William H. Bowen School of Law at University of Arkansas Little Rock and University of Idaho College of Law.

At the LSU Law Center of Continuing Professional Development, Cherie Laviolette has joined the staff as Assistant Director. She will assist in the coordination and administration of the Law Center’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program, including managing registration for CLE courses and distributing seminar materials.

Other recent additions to the LSU Law staff include:

  • Katie Bell Meek, Coordinator of the Center for Civil Law Studies and International Programs
  • Kourtney Milson, Student Affairs Office Coordinator
  • Portia Oduro, Energy Law Research Associate
