More than two dozen LSU Law alumni volunteered recently to meet with current students at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center who are navigating the challenges of law school as a first-generation student.

Over three days in late January, more than 30 first-generation LSU Law students met virtually with alumni for about 30 minutes to discuss their current challenges, career goals and pathways, and professional development opportunities.

The meetings were an initiative of the FirstGen Legal Society, a student organization that was formed in the fall of 2023 to provide a supportive community and foster personal and professional connections among first-generation and non-traditional students.
