GRETNA – The mother of a man who allegedly died from fluid building up in his brain after being sent home from the emergency room is suing.

Marcia Watts, individually and on behalf of her deceased son Jaron Watts, filed suit against Dr. Brian Guidry, C and M Medical Services and Louisiana Medical Malpractice Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 28.

Marcia Watts alleges that her son, Jason Watts, was treated by Guidry, an employee of C and M Medical Services, in the emergency room of a local hospital. The plaintiff asserts Guidry failed to properly dispose a buildup of fluid in his brain and instead sent him home with a diagnosis of vertigo. Marcia Watts contends that Jaron Watts later died due to the health problem.

The defendant is accused of medical malpractice.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for mental anguish.

Watts is representing herself pro se in the case.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 743-729.
