GRETNA – A company that was subcontracted to perform work n a project is suing the contractor they claim owe them over $1.5 million.
Ryan Goottee General Contractor LLC filed suit against Voiron Companies LLC and Guy Voiron in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 4.
Voiron Companies claims on Dec. 6, 2011 they were subcontracted by Ryan Goottee General Contractor to provide earthwork on the “Transfiguration of the Lord classroom” project for the amount of $2,566,298.35. The plaintiff alleges they completed all work under the contract on Jan. 24, 2013, but have not been fully paid under the contract. Voiron Companies assert because they have not received the full payment within the prescribed period under the contract they are owed a 15 percent charge on the balance.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $1,509,734.71 plus attorney’s fees and costs of legal proceedings are sought.
Voiron Companies is represented by attorney Claude J. Aucoin Jr. of New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
